Are you on Instagram yet? I love this app… check it out you can post pictures, search for inspiration but most importantly you also get a chance to meet some of the coolest people. Take for example Leila Pejman, she is a sassy and stylish west-coast based producer and storyteller (her work encompasses communications, content creation, and social media, topped off with a passion towards emerging technologies.). I met Leila through instagram and well, instantly LOVED her style and taste so I thought who better than Leila to repost of the recent IDS West show…. Enjoy!

5 Favorite Things At IDSwest 2012

My eyes have recently expanded into the world of home décor. It helps to also be a student of Janette Ewen’s School of Interior Design by reading her blog posts and hearing her speak. So I’m grateful to provide Janette with a list of my favorite items discovered at IDSwest 2012 in Vancouver. You can imagine it’s hard to limit to only five items, but here I go:

1) I love this circular fireplace from Sticks + Stones (, a Canadian company with a focus on eco-minded custom furniture. It’s simple yet romantic. Love that it’s adored with a fancy key. Not sure if the key helps to power the fireplace, but it’s a nice added touch.

2) Call me crazy but I’m fascinated by rocking chairs and thought this one from Maple Art ( showed strong character. Hmm, maybe it could be placed next to the ‘soon-to-be-mine’ fireplace by Sticks + Stones. Or it’d be perfect if you have a place in Whistler. The base of the chair resembles mini-skis, giving off that cabin feel. Plus, the chair looks to offer some arch support. Your chiropractor would smile over this feature!

3) I always appreciate a pop of vibrant colors in the home. That’s why I love this Valencia Club Chair in fuchsia from Moe’s Home Collection ( I like how the bright pink is matched with a silver Freeform Leaf Stool. Silver and pink…hot! A touch of funky style is my kind of thing.

4) I’m a fan of this beautifully designed bathroom sink from Native Trails ( It’s called Amilie Vanity and made with caramel bamboo. Perfect in the guest bathroom. It’s adorable with a touch of Zen.

5) I thought this was a fun furniture piece from Mint Interiors ( Look closely; the table is the shape of a horse. For all you horse lovers, this is the item for you.

Sorry, I totally forgot who had this set up. I love these decorative (yet rustic) black plates topped off with lemons. Yellow is such a powerful color for the home; I feel it brings optimism, enlightenment, and happiness. Go ahead; add some lemons on your dining room table!
