WANDERLUST
Now that summer is here so many of us will be taking vacations, from weekend road trips to European adventures, summer time means travel time. And there is no better place to look for design inspiration than when you are traveling!
One major trend in the home is one I like to call “wanderlust”. It is a look that is defined by an eclectic mix of cultural influences and collectables gathered from (or inspired by) ones personal travels. I like how this look gives a home layers and dimensions, it is not matchy-matchy and really tells a story about the homeowner. Next time you travel. Rather than purchasing tacking souvenirs think about picking up the work of a local craftsperson, even if it is something small. And take lots of photographs, these can be blown up and used as art in your home. If you are taking a road trip allot some space in your car for treasures you find along the way and be sure to stop in at the occasional thrift shop or church sale.
I have put together a gallery of some spaces that really captured this well-traveled look, enjoy!
