Fun & Fabulous Design, part 2

Last week design Expert Joan Ezesky gave us some of her thoughts on the recent ICFF show in NYC. Everyone really liked what Joan reported on (the lovely Ty Pennington even tweeted Joan’s review). Since I couldn’t get in all of Joan’s fab finds last week I decided to an overall round up of some of her favourite, trends products and booths from the show… enjoy!

TOP TREND: Many are touting the resurrection of coloured metals – bronze, gold, copper, and brass. Smoked glass (or likenesses thereof) made several appearances as did a variety of innovative and clever LED lighting fixtures. Wood, wood and more walnut!

ORGANIC DESIGN FIND: Wallpaper is still going strong for many designers and my eye was caught by a few of companies – A range of beautiful and innovative organic, hand-painted by Eskayel, designed by Shanan Campanaro, also comes in an eco-friendly contract version, made of 31% post-consumer recycled content with a Class “A” fire rating and low VOC emissions.

RULE BRITANNIA I was excited to see the display from Surface View, a British company that curates and re-masters incredible imagery, working with famous collections and uncovering hidden gems. So many possibilities!

I loved the BEDG (British European Design Group) featured Tomomi’ Sayuda’s handmade Japanese paper lanterns from the Daydreams series
